The project, which has the largest battery storage system in Latin America, covers 270 hectares and consists of 325,416 bifacial solar panels. Once in operation, it generates 533 gigawatts of energy per hour per year, which is equivalent to the electricity consumption of more than 190,000 households. With the commissioning of Andes Solar IIB, the emission of 377,000 tonnes of CO2 per year will be avoided.
In addition to the construction of the park and the Fluence (Siemens) sixth-generation storage system, Prodiel was also responsible for the execution of the associated evacuation infrastructure, which includes a 33kV/220k elevator substation, the extension of the Andes Substation and a 2.7 km long overhead high-voltage line.
