La Azotea Azul (“The Blue Rooftop”) has received 10,000 euros from Prodiel to contribute to the construction of the play and therapeutic area that will be located on the second floor of the Virgen del Rocío Hospital. Thanks to this initiative, led by the El Gancho Foundation and the hospital itself, over 4,000 children a year will be able to enjoy a place where they can continue their education, play in the open air or do their rehabilitation exercises.
The renewable energies multinational, which had already been collaborating on this project for some months, wanted to give a boost to the initiative with these 10,000 euros, which will be used in their entirety for the creation of the five spaces which comprise the construction, whose leitmotif will be the circus.
Prodiel also took part in the charity event organised by the Hermandad de La Paz (Brotherhood of Peace), which made it possible to achieve the financial target which has enabled the work on the ‘Rooftop’ to begin. The Exhibition Casino hosted the event on the 24th of November, bringing together over 600 people, who enjoyed musical and comedy acts, as well as prize draws in order to raise money.
The mobilisation achieved on the La Azotea Azul project has been unprecedented, due to the actions of over 750 solidarity initiatives and the involvement of more than 900 volunteers. In addition, thanks to collaborations of this kind, over 250,000 solidarity wristbands have been sold, which has helped to surpass the 425,000 euros budgeted for the execution of the project.
