Prodiel, a multinational with more than 20 years of experience and specialized in the construction of renewable energy generation plants, was contracted by a Joint Venture formed by Scatec Solar and Statoil of Norway, for the EPC of the Apodi photovoltaic plant of 162.25 megawatts. The plant will be located in the city of Quixeré, in the state of Ceará, 195 kilometers away from the city of Fortaleza.
This plant will be composed of almost 500,000 solar panels covering an area of about 414 hectares, which will produce approximately 317,844 MWh / year, a quantity similar the consumption of almost 165 thousand Brazilian families. It is estimated that the plant will avoid the annual emission of more than 206,600 tons of CO2 in the atmosphere.
The construction works will begin imminently and will have an approximate execution period of 11 months, with commercial operation expected for the fourth quarter of 2018.
The project, which has a total investment of more than 215 million dollars, is part of the auction process carried out by ANEEL, the National Electric Energy Agency, in November 2015.
